The Power of Love and Connection

February usually makes us think of Valentine’s Day — but this year, I’m leaning into family love and connection. We’re celebrating with FamilyTimes Day, where I’ve rented out a theater so we can all be together. It’s about showing love in action — writing notes to one another, watching a nostalgic favorite on the big screen, and honoring the people who matter most.

This month carries both joy and tenderness for me. I’m preparing to publish You Are Not Your Trauma in the spring — a project of my heart. And last month, I traveled with my best friend to Aruba after she lost her mom. That trip was healing for us both. We hadn’t traveled like that since 2018, and the timing — the rest, the connection, the exploration — was exactly what we needed. I loved her mom dearly, and since we even share a February birthday, the experience carried an extra layer of meaning.

So this season, I’m holding love in all its forms: family, friendship, community, and self.

Reflections for February:

  • Who am I showing up for with love this month?

  • Where can I allow myself to be loved and supported more fully?

  • How can I embody self-love as the foundation for everything else?

Love is resistance in a world that thrives on division. May February remind us of the power of connection.
